Dr. Katrina “Miki” McCann is an Assistant Professor in the School of Education at 91ÇÑ×Ó. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on educational leadership, teacher preparation, and research-based instructional practices. Dr. McCann mentors teacher candidates and contributes to curriculum development, emphasizing early literacy, data-driven instruction, and faith-informed leadership.

Before joining 91ÇÑ×Ó in 2025, Dr. McCann spent more than 25 years in public education, including 17 years as Principal of Bovina Elementary School in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Under her leadership, the school was repeatedly recognized as one of the top-performing elementary schools in the district and voted “Best Elementary School” in Warren County. Bovina was also named a Lighthouse and Legacy School by the Franklin Covey Organization. She previously served as Assistant Principal, Administrative Intern, and a classroom teacher in grades 3 and 4.

Dr. McCann is active in community service through the Vicksburg Junior Auxiliary and the Vicksburg Kiwanis Club. She enjoys fitness, reading, gardening, and spending time with her husband and family.
